‘There must be a reason to dirt a fine white cloth with print’- why not use it to promote positivity.
Papier mâché heads hidden in the hedgerow, romantic memories of hellebores hand stitched into murals and a tale of the cherub that couldn’t love; I aim to characterise the everyday, illuminating the importance of the overlooked. Through conversation and experience, I collage narratives from an alternate perspective, using colour and print as a functional tool to add a layer of sensitivity to my practice. With a playful process and social engagement at the core of my work, personifications of expression are embedded through experimental craftsmanship, built on the foundations of traditional methods of ‘making’.
Having lead workshops and collaborated within the community, I understand how important simple, accessible design is in today’s turbulent world and as an active Print Designer within the fashion industry, I appreciate the power of pattern and its ability to uplift.
